Based on the optical characteristics of the early 35mm f/1.4 designs, it features a 35mm focal length and a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, providing extensive control over depth of field and low-light performance.
The optical formula consists of 8 elements in 5 groups, engineered to deliver high central resolution, smooth tonal transitions, and balanced contrast across the aperture range. Multi-coated optical surfaces help suppress flare and maintain color fidelity under challenging lighting conditions. The lens focuses down to 0.7m and utilizes a precisely machined all-metal construction with a traditional manual aperture ring and focusing helicoid. Its compact dimensions preserve the handling characteristics expected of rangefinder systems, while full compatibility with Leica M and other M-mount cameras makes it suitable for a wide range of photographic applications.
