 The Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4 R was introduced in 2012 as one of the first prime lenses of the Fujifilm X-mount system. On APS-C sensors it covers a field of view equivalent to roughly 53mm in full-frame terms, the classic standard focal length used for reportage, portraiture and general photography. The optical formula counts 8 elements in 6 groups, including one aspherical element, with Fujifilm's Super EBC coating applied to control flare and ghosting. The diaphragm uses 7 rounded blades, and the aperture ring works in 1/3 EV steps from f/1.4 to f/16, with an A position for automatic control. Minimum focusing distance is 28 cm, for a maximum magnification of 0.17x.
The barrel is built around a metal construction with a 52mm filter thread, measuring 65 x 54.9 mm and weighing 187 g. Autofocus is driven by an internal DC coreless motor, with a dedicated ring for manual focus. Compatible with all Fujifilm X series bodies, including the X-T, X-Pro, X-E, X-S and X-H lines.
