The Rollei 35 AF, developed by Mint Camera, is a compact 35mm autofocus rangefinder-style camera designed around a traditional photographic workflow while incorporating modern electronic control systems. It features a 35mm f/2.8 lens with a five-element optical design and multi-coating, optimized for full-frame 35mm film coverage. The camera employs a phase-detection autofocus system with selectable focus modes, complemented by manual focus capability.
Exposure is controlled through aperture-priority auto exposure and fully manual operation, with shutter speeds ranging from 1 second to 1/500 s plus Bulb mode. Metering is performed via a built-in TTL system, supported by exposure compensation and ISO settings compatible with DX-coded and manually set film speeds. The integrated flash unit offers automatic and fill-flash functions. A bright-line optical viewfinder, electronic information display, motorized film advance, and compact metal-bodied construction complete a specification set that combines contemporary camera electronics with the portability and handling characteristics associated with classic compact 35mm film cameras.
