About Camistry
Camistry is an independent online shop based in Italy, specialised in pre-owned, rare and classic photographic equipment. Every item we sell is personally inspected, tested and described in detail before it is listed.
Besides this web shop, we sell on eBay, where we are a Top Rated Seller with hundreds of positive feedbacks. Prices on the two platforms may differ and some items are available only on camistry.eu.
We are a small business by choice: we keep a limited, fast-moving stock so that we can give each item the time it needs to be checked, cleaned and, where possible, repaired.
What we sell
- Pre-owned cameras and lenses, both film and digital, from 35mm to medium and large format.
- Rare and collectible photographic items, including vintage gear and cine/projection optics.
- Accessories such as finders, backs, grips and other parts, plus custom camera accessories we design ourselves.
Most of our products are used. Occasionally we also list new, sealed items or items sold for spare parts — the condition is always stated clearly in the title and description of each product page.
Our Mission
Camistry was born from a genuine passion for photographic equipment. We love the mechanics of a well-made shutter, the character of classic glass and the craftsmanship of cameras designed to last for generations. Many of the pieces that pass through our hands were built to a standard that is rarely matched today, and we believe they deserve to keep taking pictures rather than sitting forgotten in a drawer.
That is why our work goes beyond simply reselling. We look for equipment with a story and a future, take the time to understand it, bring it back to proper working order whenever possible, and pass it on to photographers and collectors who will use it and enjoy it.
We are equally committed to a circular market for photography. Today no camera manufacturer is carbon neutral, and every new device carries a cost in raw materials, energy and, for digital products, electronic waste. Extending the life of existing equipment is one of the most effective ways to reduce that impact. By repairing instead of discarding, salvaging cameras that are no longer produced and giving digital gear a second life, we help keep valuable equipment in use — and make quality photography more accessible at the same time.
Shipping
- Orders are dispatched on the same business day when placed before the daily cut-off time (Monday–Friday, excluding Italian public holidays). Pre-order and very bulky items have their processing time stated on the product page.
- Free, insured express shipping to Italy and all European Union countries, with carriers such as DHL, UPS and DPD. For EU customers the checkout price is final, with no extra charges on delivery.
- Worldwide shipping to non-EU countries, including the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway. For non-EU orders, customs duties, import taxes and clearance fees are not included and are paid by the customer.
- Every shipment is tracked and insured; the tracking number is sent by email after dispatch.

Returns, refunds and warranty
- 14-day right of withdrawal for customers in the European Union, starting from the day the goods are received, without having to give a reason.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned item.
- Return shipping is free if the item arrives damaged or turns out to be defective within 14 days of delivery.
- Customers outside the EU can contact us before purchasing to check return conditions for their country.
- Most pre-owned items include our Camistry Care 1-year warranty (repair, replacement or refund). Coverage is always indicated on the product page; vintage items over 20 years old are generally excluded unless professionally serviced.

Payments
Payments are processed through our secure, encrypted checkout. We accept major credit, debit and prepaid cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro), PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Klarna and other local methods shown at checkout. Bank transfer is available on request by email. Most items are pre-owned and sold under the EU margin scheme; invoices are available for business customers.
