The Nikon SA-21 is the original 35mm strip film adapter made for the Nikon Super Coolscan family: Coolscan IV ED, Coolscan V ED, Coolscan 4000 ED and Coolscan 5000 ED. As a precision film holder, it accepts strips of 35mm negative or positive film from two to six frames in length, keeping each frame flat and correctly indexed against the scanner's optical path for consistent, high-resolution digitization. The adapter slides into the carrier bay in place of the slide mount insert, making it the right choice for uncut rolls or short strips rather than individually mounted slides. Its rigid frame and fixed frame-pitch spacing match the stepper-driven auto-advance mechanism of the Coolscan series, so each exposure lands precisely under the sensor without manual repositioning. A genuine Nikon accessory for digitizing archival negatives or vintage 35mm rolls, compatible exclusively with LS-40, LS-50, LS-4000 and LS-5000 scanner bodies.
