The Leica C1 is a compact 35mm autofocus film camera using 35mm DX-coded film (ISO 25–3200) with fully automatic exposure control. It is built around a retractable Leica Vario-Elmar 38–105mm f/4.2–7.4 ASPH. zoom lens, covering a versatile range from moderate wide-angle to short telephoto. The lens employs aspherical elements to maintain compact dimensions while controlling aberrations across the zoom range.
It includes a built-in motorized film transport system for automatic loading, advance, and rewind, with mid-roll rewind capability. The shutter system operates electronically with speed variation controlled by exposure metering, and flash integration is fully automatic with TTL flash metering and red-eye reduction support.
