Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV (DSC-RX100M4) is the compact that introduced the 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor with integrated DRAM, 20.1 effective megapixels, paired with the BIONZ X processor. The accelerated readout enables 16 fps burst shooting and the Anti-Distortion electronic shutter up to 1/32000 s. Native sensitivity is ISO 125–12800, extendable to 80–25600, with RAW capture at 5472 × 3648.
The fixed ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 24–70 mm equivalent f/1.8–2.8 lens (8.8–25.7 mm actual, 7-blade iris) focuses down to 5 cm at the wide end and is operated through the lens control ring. Video covers 4K XAVC S with full pixel readout, no line skipping, in clips up to roughly 5 minutes, plus HFR super slow motion at 240/480/960 fps.
Framing uses the retractable 2,359k-dot OLED EVF (0.59x) or the 3.0" 1,229k-dot LCD tilting 180° up and 45° down. Wi-Fi and NFC are built in. NP-BX1 battery, approx. 280 shots CIPA. 101.6 × 58.1 × 41.0 mm, approx. 298 g with battery and card.
