The Hasselblad E12 is a 120 roll film magazine built for the Hasselblad V-System, evolving the well-known A12 back with the addition of the Dark Slide Sensor (DSS), a mechanical interlock preventing the shutter from firing while the dark slide remains inserted, guarding against accidental double exposures. Each roll yields twelve 6x6cm frames, advanced via the classic crank-wind mechanism with automatic frame counting and a light-tight baffle system. Its hinged back and interchangeable spool design allow mid-roll magazine swaps, letting photographers change film stock or format without wasting frames. Fully compatible with 500-series and 200-series bodies, the E12 slots seamlessly into any modular medium-format kit built around the V-System bayonet mount, embodying the precision engineering Hasselblad backs are known for.
