Very rare cosmetic state. Excellent condition, looks basically new. Film tested, cleaned and sanitized. Perfect shutter speeds, spacing, advance.

Shutter works perfectly at all speeds. Spacing and advance are correct.

The internal lightmeter is not working like in most Mat-124g nowadays, but due to the age and nature of the metering cell it won't be very reliable any way. There is some corrosion in the battery cell.

The Yashica Mat-124G is a 6×6 medium format twin-lens reflex (TLR) camera designed for 120 and 220 roll film, delivering a native 6×6 cm negative. It features a fixed Yashinon 80 mm f/3.5 taking lens (4 elements in 3 groups), renowned for high sharpness, good contrast, and a natural tonal response well suited to black-and-white and color film. The viewing lens is matched for accurate framing and focusing.

The camera employs a Copal-SV leaf shutter with speeds from 1 s to 1/500 s plus Bulb, enabling flash synchronization at all speeds via PC sync. Exposure control is fully manual, with aperture settings from f/3.5 to f/32. Focusing is achieved through a bright waist-level finder with a ground-glass screen, central magnifier, and sports finder for eye-level use.

Construction is primarily metal, giving the Mat-124G a solid mechanical feel while remaining reasonably compact for a medium format TLR. Its combination of optical quality, mechanical shutter, and integrated metering makes it a well-rounded tool for controlled, deliberate medium format photography.
