The Olympus PEN E-PL9 is a compact Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera featuring a 16.1MP Live MOS sensor paired with the TruePic VIII image processor. The camera incorporates 3-axis in-body image stabilization, providing compensation for camera shake during both still photography and video recording.
Autofocus is based on a 121-point contrast-detection AF system with support for face and eye detection. Continuous shooting reaches up to 8.6 fps, while sensitivity ranges from ISO 200–25600. Video recording supports 4K UHD at 30p and Full HD at higher frame rates.
The included M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ is a retractable standard zoom lens equivalent to 28-84mm in full-frame terms. Its optical design incorporates ED and aspherical elements for image correction across the zoom range. The lens features an electronic zoom mechanism, close-focusing capability, and a compact profile well suited to the PEN system.
Additional features include a 3.0-inch tilting touchscreen LCD, integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, RAW capture support, and compatibility with the extensive Micro Four Thirds lens ecosystem.
