The Olympus Mju II 80 is a 35mm compact film camera equipped with a 38–80mm f/4.5–8.9 zoom lens, offering flexibility between wide-angle and short telephoto perspectives. The optical system is constructed with precision multi-coated elements to ensure sharpness and balanced color rendering across the zoom range.
Focusing is managed through an active multi-beam autofocus system, with support for spot AF for precise subject targeting. The integrated automatic exposure system provides accurate metering, while a built-in flash includes several modes such as fill-in, red-eye reduction, and night scene synchronization for controlled lighting in varied conditions.
The camera body is designed with the sliding clamshell cover mechanism, protecting the lens and enabling quick power-on operation. Film transport is fully automatic, handling loading, advance, and rewind. The Mju 80 is compatible with standard 35mm film rolls (ISO 50–3200, DX-coded), giving broad flexibility in film choice.
