Its Biogon optical formula—derived from a symmetric wide-angle design—incorporates high-precision glass elements to achieve controlled distortion and consistent edge-to-edge rendering. The lens construction consists of 7 elements in 5 groups, optimized for uniform illumination across the frame. It supports a minimum focusing distance of 0.5 m, with autofocus driven by the Contax G camera body. The all-metal barrel and black finish variant emphasize durability and limited production positioning within the Contax G system.
