The Astro Berlin Gauss Tachar C V.S. 25mm f/2.0 is a high-speed cine lens, employing a Gauss-type optical formula optimized for compact coverage with strong central performance. It features a 25mm focal length paired with a fast f/2.0 maximum aperture, enabling efficient low-light operation and shallow depth control within the constraints of small-format cinematography. The lens typically uses a Arriflex Standard Mount, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of cine cameras and modern adapters. Optical construction emphasizes high resolution, balanced contrast, and controlled rendering across the frame for motion imaging. The manual focus mechanism offers precise distance control, while the aperture diaphragm is designed for smooth, continuous adjustment, suited to exposure transitions during filming.
