The Zeiss Sonnar T✻ FE 35mm f/2.8 ZA is a compact wide-angle prime lens designed for Sony E-mount full-frame cameras. It offers a 35mm focal length with a maximum aperture of f/2.8, balancing portability with light-gathering capability.
The optical design consists of 7 elements in 5 groups, including three double-sided aspherical elements, optimized to control aberrations and maintain edge-to-edge sharpness. Zeiss T✻ coatings reduce reflections and improve contrast and color accuracy.
Autofocus is driven by a linear motor with internal focusing, offering fast and quiet performance suitable for both stills and video. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 35cm, with a maximum magnification of 0.12x.
It features dust- and moisture-resistant construction, a metal barrel, and a non-rotating 49mm filter thread. A dedicated, low-profile lens hood is included and designed to preserve the compact form.
Weighing approximately 120g and measuring 36.5mm in length, the Sonnar 35mm f/2.8 is well-suited for everyday use, travel, and street photography within the Sony full-frame mirrorless system.
