La Kiev 60 è una reflex di medio formato dell'era sovietica progettata per pellicole da 120, che produce negativi quadrati da 6×6 cm. È dotata di una struttura solida, otturatore sul piano focale con velocità che vanno da 1/1000s a 1s, più modalità Bulb e un design modulare con mirini intercambiabili, tra cui un mirino a pozzetto e uno a pentaprisma. Il meccanismo di avanzamento della pellicola è combinato con l'armamento dell'otturatore.
Il Volna-3 80mm f/2.8 è un obiettivo fisso standard per la Kiev 60, che offre una lunghezza focale classica per ritratti e fotografia in generale. Ha un design ottico multistrato con una costruzione a sei elementi, che fornisce grande nitidezza e contrasto. L'obiettivo utilizza un attacco Pentacon Six (P6), consentendo la compatibilità con altre fotocamere di medio formato che utilizzano lo stesso sistema.
