The Irix 15mm f/2.4 (Canon EF mount) is a manual focus ultra-wide-angle prime lens designed for full-frame DSLRs, offering a 110° angle of view ideal for architecture, landscape, interior, and astrophotography.
The optical construction consists of 15 elements in 11 groups, including 3 high refractive elements, 2 ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements, and 2 aspherical elements, engineered to deliver high edge-to-edge sharpness, controlled distortion, and minimized chromatic aberration. The lens features Neutrino coating to reduce flare and ghosting while maintaining contrast and color fidelity.
Its maximum aperture of f/2.4 enables effective low-light performance and creative depth-of-field use, especially in night sky photography. The rounded 9-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth out-of-focus areas.
Focusing is fully manual with a wide, precise rubberized focus ring and a built-in focus lock mechanism, allowing settings to be secured for consistent framing. The lens also features a rear gelatin filter slot and is compatible with 95mm front filters—unusual and practical for a lens this wide.
