The Fujifilm GSW690 III is a medium format rangefinder camera designed for 6×9 cm negatives on 120 or 220 roll film, yielding high-resolution images with exceptional detail. It is equipped with a fixed Fujinon EBC 65mm f/5.6 lens, equivalent to approximately 28mm in 35mm format, constructed with 9 elements in 8 groups, delivering excellent sharpness and minimal distortion across the frame.

Focusing is manual, achieved through a bright-frame coupled rangefinder system, while exposure is controlled by a mechanical leaf shutter with speeds from 1 second to 1/500 second, plus Bulb mode, and X-synchronization available at all speeds. The aperture range extends from f/5.6 to f/32, providing strong depth-of-field control for landscape and architectural work.

The optical viewfinder includes bright-line frame marks and parallax correction, ensuring accurate composition. The camera body features a durable fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate shell over a metal chassis, maintaining a balance between robustness and portability. The GSW690 III is known for its large negative size, precision optics, and mechanical reliability, optimized for professional-grade medium format photography.
