The Heliar 21cm f/4.5 is a classic large-format lens with a five-element symmetrical design, offering sharpness, smooth tonal transitions, and minimal distortion. With a 210mm focal length and f/4.5 aperture, it excels in portraiture and landscapes, delivering vintage optical character and precise manual control.
This exemplar suffers a little bit from balsam separation. No fungus or significant haze. Some yellowing and some rust on the aperture blades, wich are slightly stiff, especially in the closed position. Despite the defects the lens is still totally usable, especially for many creative application like instant photography, minute cameras, large format.
