The optical construction includes 14 elements in 10 groups, with one aspherical and two extra-low dispersion elements to minimize distortion and chromatic aberrations. The lens has a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture for low-light performance and depth of field control. Its manual focus design allows precise adjustments, and the built-in petal-shaped hood helps reduce lens flare and ghosting.
