The taking lens is free from haze, fungus, or significant dust, and all shutter speeds— including the longer ones —operate accurately. Film advance and frame spacing are precise, and the light meter is still functional.

The viewfinder lens has a slight haze on the rear element, which does not affect visibility or, of course, image quality. The camera shows some general cosmetic wear, as seen in the photos, but no major flaws. The viewfinder opens properly, though the right-side flap may need a gentle push.

The Rolleiflex White Face 3.5 Planar is a twin-lens reflex (TLR) medium format camera, part of the later iterations of the classic Rolleiflex line produced by Franke & Heidecke in Braunschweig, Germany. The “White Face” designation refers to the white trim around the taking lens, introduced in the early 1970s, distinguishing it from earlier black-face models.

It features a Carl Zeiss Planar 75mm f/3.5 lens, a renowned 5-element design known for its high resolution and smooth rendering. The camera produces 6×6 cm negatives on 120 roll film, and includes a Synchro-Compur leaf shutter with speeds from 1 to 1/500 sec plus Bulb, as well as flash sync at all speeds.

The White Face models represent some of the final mechanically-produced Rolleiflex TLRs, combining decades of refinement with robust German engineering. The Planar 3.5 version is especially regarded for its optical quality, mechanical precision, and place in the lineage of professional cameras used by photojournalists, portraitists, and fine art photographers throughout the 20th century.
