The Fujifilm X20 is a compact digital camera introduced in 2013, designed to offer advanced features and manual controls in a small, retro-styled body. It is the successor to the Fujifilm X10 and is aimed at enthusiasts who require better image quality and optical handling than typical point-and-shoots.
The X20 is built around a 2/3-inch (8.8 x 6.6 mm) 12-megapixel X-Trans CMOS II sensor, a non-Bayer pattern design that reduces moiré and false color without the need for an optical low-pass filter. Paired with the EXR Processor II, the camera offers ISO sensitivity from 100 to 12,800 and supports continuous shooting at up to 12 fps at full resolution (with a reduced buffer at higher speeds).
The lens is a fixed Fujinon 4x optical zoom, equivalent to 28–112mm in 35mm terms, with a fast maximum aperture of f/2.0–2.8. The optical design consists of 11 elements in 9 groups, including 3 aspherical and 2 extra-low dispersion (ED) elements. Optical image stabilization is integrated. Focusing is internal, and the lens is manually extended to power on the camera.
The X20 features a bright optical tunnel viewfinder with 85% frame coverage and integrated real-time data overlay, using a Digital Trans Panel (transmissive LCD) to show shooting information — a rare feature in compact digital cameras.
