The Contax TLA 140 is a compact, lightweight TTL (Through-The-Lens) auto flash designed primarily for Contax G-series rangefinders (G1, G2) and T-series compact cameras (T2, T3, TVS, TVS II, TVS III). It supports TTL flash metering for automatic exposure control when paired with compatible cameras. The guide number is 14 (ISO 100, meters), making it suitable for close to mid-range photography.

It operates on two AA batteries and features a fixed 28mm coverage, with automatic adjustment for wider lenses via the camera’s TTL system. The sync speed and flash exposure compensation depend on the host camera's settings. It attaches via the Contax proprietary hot shoe, limiting compatibility with non-Contax systems unless used in manual mode.
