The Contax G Zeiss Sonnar 90mm f/2.8 is a short telephoto prime lens designed for the Contax G-series rangefinder cameras. It features a 90mm focal length, delivering compressed perspective and selective focus capabilities suitable for portraiture and detail work on 35mm film. The optical formula includes 5 elements in 4 groups, optimized for sharpness, contrast, and color fidelity.
Autofocus is electronically controlled via the Contax G camera body, with focusing done through a motorized system. Manual focus adjustment is possible using the body’s focus controls, as the lens itself lacks a mechanical focusing ring.
The lens body is made of metal, with precision construction in line with Carl Zeiss T✻ multi-coating standards, enhancing contrast and reducing flare.
