The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II is a compact digital camera equipped with a 1.0-inch type CMOS sensor with 20.1 megapixels (BSI, effective). It features a DIGIC 7 image processor, enabling faster AF response, improved subject tracking, and enhanced low-light performance compared to its predecessor.
The lens is a 24–100mm equivalent (4.2x zoom), with a bright f/1.8–2.8 aperture, offering shallow depth of field and solid performance in low light. It uses a 9-blade diaphragm, which contributes to pleasing background blur (bokeh). The lens has built-in optical image stabilization (IS) with up to 4 stops of correction. The AF system is responsive and includes features such as face detection and subject tracking.
The camera includes a 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD with 1.04 million dots, tiltable up to 180° upwards and 45° downwards, supporting both touch focus and touch shutter. The body includes a control ring around the lens, configurable for either step or smooth operation, aiding both stills and video workflows.
ISO range is 125–12800, expandable to 25600, with good control over noise up to mid-high settings. Shutter speeds range from 30s to 1/2000s (mechanical) and 1/25600s (electronic). Continuous shooting is up to 8 fps with locked AF, or 5.4 fps with continuous AF.
The G7 X Mark II includes Wi-Fi and NFC, plus manual exposure controls, RAW support, built-in ND filter, and in-camera RAW conversion. The battery used is NB-13L, supporting USB charging.
Body construction is metal-based, with a compact size (105.5 × 60.9 × 42.0 mm) and a weight of approximately 319g including battery and card.
