The spring-loaded pin in the battery comparment is very stiff, so a small piece of conductive element (like tinfoil) is needed in order for the 6V battery to make contact. We provide a tested and operational setup.
The Canon New F-1 is a 35mm SLR film camera, featuring a mechanical horizontal-travel titanium-bladed shutter with speeds from 1/2000s to 8s, plus Bulb mode. The camera has a removable pentaprism viewfinder with 100% coverage and an interchangeable focusing screen system.
It utilizes Canon FD lenses with full-aperture metering and stop-down options. The match-needle metering system uses a silicon photodiode (SPD) light meter with a range of EV 1-18 at ISO 100. The film advance is manual but can be motorized with optional accessories. Power is provided by a 6V battery for metering and automatic functions, while mechanical shutter operation remains independent of battery power. The fully metal construction ensures durability, making it suitable for professional use.
