On the 645 format its field of view is comparable to a 28mm lens on 35mm, a versatile perspective for landscape, architecture, interiors and environmental portraiture. The optical design is a retrofocus Distagon with \u003cstrong\u003e9 elements in 7 groups\u003c\/strong\u003e, internal focusing and a built-in AF motor, with manual override via the focus ring. Zeiss points to very uniform corner-to-corner illumination and low distortion, while the T* coating preserves contrast and colour. Aperture range f\/2.8 to f\/32, 72mm filter thread, Contax 645 bayonet mount.
